Man grazed, 14-year-boy seriously wounded in shooting in South Chicago

An argument sparked a shooting that left a 14-year-old boy seriously hurt and a man grazed late Wednesday in South Chicago.

Around 11:40 p.m., a 31-year-old man was arguing with three people in the 7900 block of South Paxton Avenue when one of the people opened fire, Chicago police said.

One of the three people, identified as a 14-year-old boy, was shot in the chest and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in serious condition, officials said.

The man was grazed in the thigh and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was in fair condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
