A man was in custody after an hours-long SWAT standoff Wednesday night in Austin on the West Side.
Officers responded to calls of a person with a gun around 8:50 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Augusta Boulevard and called for backup from SWAT when the man barricaded himself, Chicago police said.
Hours later, the man was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
No injuries were reported and charges were pending.
