A 35-year-old man was fatally shot while inside a parked car Monday afternoon in Austin, police said.
Nathaniel Jefferson was parked in the 5500 block of West Lake Street when an unknown assailant approached and opened fire, hitting him several times, police said.
Jefferson was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Jefferson’s death, due to multiple gunshot wounds, was ruled a homicide.
The assailant was not arrested and Area 4 detectives are investigating.
