A man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon near a Douglas County skate park after getting into an argument with another driver, police said.
Parker police responded to a shots-fired call just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Twenty Mile Road and Longs Way, near Railbender Skate & Tennis Park, according to a news release from the department.
Witnesses told police that two vehicles were stopped alongside each other and the drivers were involved in an unspecified “disagreement,” according to the release. That’s when multiple shots were fired and one driver left the scene.
When Parker officers arrived, they found the second man dead near his vehicle, police said.
The victim will be identified by the Douglas County Coroner’s Office.
About 2 1/2 hours after the shooting, police said investigators found a person of interest and the vehicle believed to be involved. The person of interest had not been publicly identified as of Wednesday morning.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact detectives at bwilson@parkerco.govor by phone at 303-805-6561.
