Man pleads guilty to vehicular homicide in fatal crash in Denver’s Mar Lee neighborhood

A 57-year-old man pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in Denver District Court on Thursday for an April crash that killed a man standing in the yard of a Mar Lee home.

James Corpuz was arrested on April 15 after crashing into a yard in the 1000 block of South Irving Street, hitting Nam Duc Ngo, 57, according to previous reporting.

Ngo died at the scene.

Corpuz pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide related to reckless driving, according to court records.

He was also charged with driving under the influence with three or more prior convictions; vehicular homicide – drunken driving; and reckless driving, but those charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Corpuz is set to be sentenced on March 14.
