A man allegedly shot dead three women including his mother in different locations within less than an hour in a horrific killing spree.

Javontee Brice, 28, is accused of fatally gunning down his mom, his cousin and his ex-girlfriend’s new partner in Mantatee County and then trying to leave Florida on Monday.

The violence started just before 9pm when Brice went to an apartment in Palmetto that his ex-girlfriend and sister were staying at, said county Sheriff Rick Wells.

Brice asked if he could take a shower there, and when his ex-girlfriend refused to let him, he replied with, ‘I have to kill you,’ according to Wells.

His sister managed to talk him out of shooting his ex-girlfriend.

Brice then around 9.15pm went to a Motel 6 in East Bradenton where his mom, Titimysha Scott, and two younger sisters, and his mom’s boyfriend were staying.

‘I’m sorry,’ Brice told his mother.

As she asked him, ‘What did you do?’ he shot her three times in front of her boyfriend his own sisters, according to Wells.

Then Brice returned to Palmetto around 9.45pm and shot his 29-year-old cousin, Sacouya Starquez Jonquila Brice, as she was leaving a cookout and getting into her car, Wells said. She was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead there an hour later.

Meanwhile, Brice shortly after 10pm got to another ex-girlfriend’s home in Bradenton that she was sharing with her new 31-year-old partner. All three got into a fight and Brice fatally shot his ex-girlfriend’s female partner, Charel Carter, Wells said.

Late Monday into early Tuesday, Brice started making social media posts in which he appeared to admit to his crimes. As family members pleaded for him to stop, he wrote that he was going to finish the job, meaning kill another ex-girlfriend in Georgia, according to Wells.

Shortly before 1am on Tuesday, Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies saw Brice’s car going northbound on Interstate 75 with another woman in the passenger seat. Brice got out of his vehicle and started shooting at deputies, who fired back and killed him.

Wells identified the three victims on Tuesday afternoon.

The triple homicide remains under investigation.

Brice had domestic violence in his criminal history.

Wells said that Brice’s sister at the first Palmetto apartment ‘later told investigators that he was acting very strange, not really sure what was going on with him’.
