SAN JOSE – A man was shot and killed Tuesday morning in San Jose, according to authorities.
Officers were called to a residence in the 90 block of Sunset Court just before 4 a.m. for a report of a person shot, San Jose police Sgt. Jorge Garibay said in a news release. They arrived to find the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, Garibay said.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
The suspect left the scene before officers arrived, Garibay said. No arrests were announced Tuesday.
Garibay said the case is being investigated as San Jose’s sixth homicide of the year.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
