An armed man was shot Wednesday night by Greeley police after leading officers on a chase through the University of Northern Colorado campus, according to investigators.
A Greeley police officer tried to pull over a man with a felony warrant just after 8 p.m. Wednesday near the college campus, according to a news release from the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team.
The man got out of the car with a gun and started running, according to the release. Greeley officers chased him on foot through the UNC campus.
Police said the unidentified man fired his gun and officers returned fire. It’s unclear how many officers shot the man or how many times he was shot.
Paramedics took the man to the hospital Wednesday night, but the extent of his injuries was unknown, investigators said.
No one else was injured in the shooting.
