A man was shot while trying to escape from two gunmen trying to rob him early Tuesday in South Shore.
Around 1:35 a.m., a 53-year-old man was trying to get into his vehicle in the 7000 block of South South Shore Drive when two gunmen approached and tried to rob him, Chicago police said.
When he attempted to drive off the gunmen opened fire, striking him in the upper left shoulder, police said.
He went to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was listed in good condition, officials said.
No one was in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
