Man shot, killed in Englewood business; 1 in custody

A person is in custody in the shooting death of a man inside an Englewood business Friday afternoon.

A 42-year-old man was inside a business in the 7000 block of South Damen Avenue when he got into an argument with two men about 4:25 p.m., Chicago police said.

One of the men, 38, pulled out a gun and opened fire.

The 42-year-old suffered gunshots to the chest, head and back and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The gunman suffered a gunshot wound to the hand and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. Officers placed him in custody.

The other man fled the scene, police said.
