Man sought in sexual abuse of 2 girls at South Loop playground

Chicago police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually abused two girls at a South Loop park Wednesday night.

The two girls were at the playground in Jones Park, 1240 S. Plymouth Court, about 7:40 p.m. when the man approached one of them and grabbed her as she crawled underneath the playground equipment, Chicago police said.

He then walked toward another girl, sat next to her, spoke to her and then “briefly touched [her] in an inappropriate manner,” police said.

The man followed the girls as they left the playground, but he soon fled, running north through the Plymouth Court tunnel, police said.

Police described the man as a bald man between 60 and 70 years old, with white facial hair and a gold tooth. He wore a long-sleeved black shirt with a white skeleton decal and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chicago police at (312) 492-3810. Anonymous tips can be submitted at CPDTIP.com.
