OAKLAND — A man suspected of shooting at Oakland police officers responding to a domestic violence call at his residence last week has been charged with 12 felony counts, including five counts of attempted murder of a peace officer, authorities said Tuesday.
Jesse Fahrner, 54, is also charged with five counts of assault on a peace officer with a semi-automatic firearm and two counts of of felony child abuse.
He is being held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning.
The charges stem from an incident that happened about 1:30 a.m. last Friday at an apartment complex in the in the 1000 block of West Grand Avenue in West Oakland.
Police were responding to a 911 call related to a domestic violence incident involving Fahrner, a woman and two children at the residence.
Fahrner is accused of firing a shot from inside the residence that nearly hit officers after they knocked on the front door and announced themselves as Oakland police, authorities said.
No officers returned fire.
Police contained the scene and eventually all four people inside came out and Fahrner was arrested. A pistol was recovered at the scene.
No one was injured.
