Marin County sheriff’s detectives arrested a Richmond man for allegedly stealing bicycles in Santa Venetia.
The alleged crime occurred on Oct. 16, when a resident reported that three bicycles were stolen from his porch while he slept, sheriff’s Lt. Brennan Collins said. The bicycles were locked and had a total value of $8,000. A surveillance camera recorded the theft, Collins said.
Based on the video footage, detectives identified a suspect and tracked him to a residence in Richmond. The suspect also had a warrant for his arrest that was based on an alleged bicycle theft in Fairfax, Collins said.
Efrany Dionicio Diaz-Diaz, 28, was booked into the Marin County Jail on Tuesday on suspicion of grand theft. His bail amount was set at $10,000.
