With summer workouts underway and an exhibition tour of Australia coming up, the Colorado men’s basketball team also knows the roadmap for the upcoming season.
On Wednesday, Colorado announced its nonconference schedule for the 2025-26 campaign, which begins with a Nov. 3 opening-night home date against Montana State. CU also opened the 2021-22 season at home against Montana State, with the Buffs surviving for an overtime win.
CU plays its first five games at home, with the Montana State opener followed by dates against Eastern Washington (Nov. 8), Providence (Nov. 14), Alabama State (Nov. 17) and UC Davis (Nov. 21).
The Buffs have never played Alabama State and UC Davis. The date against Providence, coached by former CU assistant Kim English, will be the first game of a home-and-home series that will take the Buffs to Rhode Island in the 2026-27 season.
The home game against UC Davis also will be part of the Acrisure Series, which will take the Buffs to Palm Desert, Calif., the following week for two games against foes still to be determined.
After hosting Cal Baptist on Dec. 1 — also the first matchup in program history — the Buffs will play their only true road game of the nonconference slate when they visit Colorado State for a rivalry showdown on Dec. 6. CU returns home to host Texas-San Antonio (Dec. 13) and Portland State (Dec. 17) in another first-time matchup before traveling to Phoenix for a neutral-floor battle against former Pac-12 rival Stanford.
CU completes the nonconference schedule with a home game against Northern Colorado on Dec. 28.
The tipoff times and television info for the entire nonconference slate will be released at a later date. Last week, the Big 12 announced its conference pairings, again with dates and times still to be determined, as the league reverts back to an 18-game conference schedule.
