Metra trains were backed up Friday afternoon near La Grange after a freight train struck a semitruck.
Trains in both directions on the Metra BNSF line were delayed when another train hit a vehicle about 2 p.m. near LaGrange Road in the southwest suburb, the rail service said.
BNSF trains were only running between Chicago and Berwyn, and from Aurora to Fairview Avenue in Downers Grove, Metra said. Passengers were told to use the Union Pacific West Line as an alternate route.
No other information was immediately available.
