It all happened Monday. Concord police Lt. Robert Garcia in a statement said police received a call about 1:25 p.m. reporting a potential threat involving a gun on a local campus.
Garcia said officers responded to Oak Grove Middle School on Minert Road and Cambridge Elementary School on Lacey Lane. He said they locked down the middle school and maintained a presence at the elementary school.
Officers still were at the campuses when students were dismissed, and Garcia said they received information during that time leading to a suspect. Police said they followed the lead and identified the suspect as a student at Oak Grove Middle School.
They went to the student’s residence and arrested him there on suspicion of falsely reporting an emergency, Garcia said. Authorities later released the student to the parents.
