McDonald’s launched a smaller version of its McFlurry today, Sept. 10, as well as new, more environmentally friendly packaging for its frozen dessert.
The Mini McFlurry is the same as a regular McFlurry, only smaller. It’s currently available in the same two flavors, with crushed Oreo cookies or with M&Ms.
McDonald’s representatives declined to give the size of a Mini McFlurry but described it as about one-third of the size of a regular McFlurry. A regular McFlurry is frequently listed as about 12 ounces in nutritional guides, which would make the Mini about 4 ounces.
We paid $4.39 for a regular McFlurry and $2.59 for a Mini McFlurry, which is more than one-third of the price. It’s closer to 60%.
When you order a McFlurry on the McDonald’s app or at an in-store kiosk, you’re taken to a page where you close between sizes.
The new packaging is a carton with flaps that fold down instead of a separate plastic lid.
