‘Do you want some? Yeah you’ve got it here – f**king take it,’ he said to an officer reaching into his pocket.
He was caught by police after reports of drug dealing near Sillwood Road, Brighton, on August 4 and detained a day later under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Police found 11 bags of cocaine and a large quantity of cash on Lamaj who was arrested in John Street on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.
Following his arrest, Lamaj was charged on August 6 and appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
He pleaded guilty on September 3 at Lewes Crown Court and was sentenced that day to two years in prison.
CI Simon Marchant said: ‘The harm caused by drug dealing goes far beyond a single street transaction.
‘It brings disruption to residents, fuels anti-social behaviour, and creates a general sense of insecurity within the community.’
CI Marchant praised people in the area for telling police about Lamaj’s activities and said patrols are ongoing.
