A naked intruder who trespassed at a Studio City duplex was shot to death Friday morning.
The fatal shooting was reported about 7:10 a.m. on the 4500 block of Tujunga Avenue, on the edge of North Hollywood near the 101 and 170 freeway split, according to Los Angeles police and fire officials. The call indicated a trespasser was involved.
Authorities pronounced a roughly 40-year-old man dead at the scene. Police said he had no clothes on when he entered an apartment occupied by two women who began to scream.
During the incident, the suspect injured a 79-year-old man, who suffered severe leg injuries, ABC7 reported from the scene, adding that the intruder was subsequently shot, possibly by the landlord at the duplex, ABC7 reported from the scene.
Los Angeles firefighters pronounced the suspect dead after staging at the location while officers made sure it was safe to enter.
The 79-year-old man was taken to a hospital in serious condition, according to the fire department.
