Naperville’s DMV has moved to a new location in the west suburbs.
An appointment-only facility for driver services opened at 1771 W. Diehl Road, Unit 110, Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced Monday.
The facility is larger and has more parking spots to fit the needs of the growing community, Giannoulias office’s said in a news release. Naperville has grown from a population 105,000 — when the former DMV at 931 W. 75th St. opened in 1994 — to nearly 155,000 today.
The new facility leverages the office’s one-stop-shop model, featuring cross-trained employees to handle more tasks and a more intuitive flow for customers, Giannoulias’ office said.
The location is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Services offered include driver’s license applications and renewals, REAL ID applications, title work, driving tests, vehicle registration renewals and renewal stickers.
The old facility closed noon Thursday, and the new location opened at noon Friday.
