Nigel Farage says Tories have only themselves to blame if Labour wins by landslide adding govt ‘hasn’t delivered Brexit’

NIGEL Farage says his conscience is clear and the Tories have only themselves to blame if Sir Keir Starmer wins by a landslide.

He dismissed claims that his return to lead Reform had paved the way to a Labour “super-majority”.

He said: “If I’d gone to the Bahamas and fished for a month, which was very tempting, the Tories were screwed. They’ve done it to themselves. They’ve broken trust.”

After addressing 4,500 fans at the NEC in Birmingham — in the biggest event of any party during this election campaign — Mr Farage hit out at the Tories.

“The Conservatives have not delivered Brexit”, he told The Sun.

“Five point five million men and women out there running small businesses feel totally betrayed.

“Millions of us who’ve wanted lower immigration numbers have seen 2.5million people go from the last two years. You know the Tories have betrayed Brexit.”

Mr Farage said he most feared Sir Keir winning with a small majority, because then the hard left will have sway.

He added: “Keir Starmer with a bigger majority actually would be safer than with a small majority.”

Reform’s campaign has had setbacks — including having to withdraw support for candidates over racism claims and a row on his stance on Ukraine.

But amid a barrage of criticism aimed at the BBC and Channel 4, who he accused of trying to stitch him up, he told the rally that “the bad apples are gone”.

Mr Farage predicted that Reform will win millions of votes at the polls on Thursday. He said: “I genuinely think we’re going to do better than people think.”

He believes the party has momentum and that “this is just the first step of something really big and really fundamental”.

And he is confident of becoming an MP for the first time this week in Clacton. He said: “The breakthrough is very, very important.

“Because that’s the energy that will be needed to get it really motoring between now and the end of the year. I never take anything for granted, you know? But I hope so. I hope so.”
