A traveling nurse who worked at hospitals in San Dimas and West Hills faces three felony charges following an arrest on suspicion of attempting to meet a minor for sexual acts, authorities said Friday, Aug. 1.
Ameen Zarinkhil, 29, was charged Tuesday, July 29, with distributing or showing pornography to a minor with intent to seduce, attempting lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old and attempting to create child pornography, according to Los Angeles police and court records.
The charges stem from a June 12 incident, according to court records. Zarinkhil was arrested July 12, and was released after posting $100,000 bail, according to inmate records.
He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday, Aug. 7, where he may enter a plea to the charges, court records show.
Police did not release further details about how, where and when Zarinkhil tried to meet up with a minor, but detectives believe there may be additional victims who have not come forward.
It was unknown if Zarinkhil attempted to meet with the minor at West Hills Hospital or San Dimas Community Hospital, where he worked.
LAPD Harbor Vice officers asked anyone who may be a victim of Zarinkhil or has additional information to call detectives at 213-280-1501. Anonymous tips can be made by calling LA Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at lacrimestoppers.org.
