A storm passing through the Denver metro could bring nickel-sized hail and high winds with it, according to a special weather statement from the National Weather Servic in Boulder.
The statement is in effect until 4:30 p.m.
The statement included a map that showed areas as far south as Foxfield, as far north as Mead from Morrison in the west to the Denver International Airport in the east could be affected by the storm.
Residents were urged to seek shelter in a sturdy structure.
The storm is part of a system of showers and thunderstorms moving east across the northeastern plains through the early evening, according to a social media post from NWS Boulder. There will likely be heavy rains from the system, the message said.
