OAKLAND — A group of shooters wounded a woman and a man Friday night in North Oakland, authorities said.
Both victims were in stable condition at a hospital. Police said the 28-year-old woman and 32-year-old man knew each other but their exact relationship was not confirmed.
The shooting, which prompted the activation of a gunshot detection system alert, happened about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of 46th Street.
According to initial police reports, the man and woman were outside when more than one person began shooting at them. The shooters fired off more than a dozen rounds.
The shooters wounded the man twice and the woman once. Gunfire also damaged a residence in the area, but police did not report any other injuries. Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting. Investigators have not made any arrests and have not released any suspect information.
