El Departamento de Policía de Hanover Park anunció el martes que el oficial Radule Bojovic, nacido en Montenegro, ha regresado a su estado de trabajo completo después de haber sido detenido en octubre por agentes del Servicio de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE).
Debido a que la liberación de Bojovic el 31 de octubre bajo fianza no fue impugnada y sigue estando autorizado para trabajar por el gobierno federal, los funcionarios policiales dijeron que determinan que el oficial es elegible para el servicio.
Los líderes del departamento declararon anteriormente que la contratación de Bojovic en enero se realizó en plena conformidad con las leyes federales y estatales.
Los funcionarios destacaron que Bojovic presentó a la municipalidad una Tarjeta de Autorización de Empleo (EAD) válida emitida por el Servicio de Ciudadanía e Inmigración de los Estados Unidos (USCIS). Además, tanto las verificaciones de antecedentes del Buró Federal de Investigaciones (FBI) como las de la Policía del Estado de Illinois no revelaron antecedentes penales, indicaron los funcionarios.
Bojovic regresó al deber activo el lunes, y la municipalidad de Hannover Park le proporcionará el pago retroactivo por el tiempo que estuvo de permiso administrativo.
