Enerplus Corp., which has merged with Chord Energy Corp., is closing its office in Denver, resulting in the loss of 73 jobs over the next several months.
A notice submitted this week with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment said starting Jan. 6, all the employees not moving into jobs with Chord Energy outside of Denver will be let go. The positions will be phased out through May 23.
Enerplus, a Canadian independent oil and gas company, was headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Denver was its U.S. base.

Chord Energy, based in Houston, and Enerplus agreed earlier this year to combine in a deal worth approximately $11 billion in stocks and cash. The companies completed the transaction May 31.
Company officials said the consolidation will result in a premier, low-cost inventory of minerals over roughly 1.3 million acres in the Williston Basin. The basin stretches over eastern Montana, western North Dakota and South Dakota and the southern Canadian province of Saskatchewan.
The jobs that will be eliminated because of the permanent closure of the Enerplus Denver office include analysts, technicians, accountants, engineers and software developers. Chord Energy said the workers aren’t represented by a union.
