One EuroMillions ticketholder wins entire £133,000,000 jackpot

The winning numbers are 4, 8, 16, 17, 20, 1 and 6

The entire £133,000,000 EuroMillions jackpot has been won by a single ticketholder who bought their ticket in a local sweet shop.

It’s the second largest jackpot ever won in Spain, coming behind the £159,000,000 won by a single ticketholder in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2017.

Last night’s winning numbers are 4, 8, 16, 17, 20, 1 and 6.

One lucky winner validated the ticket at the Amancio Gozokiak sweetshop in Derio, a town of 7,000 people in the Basque Country of northern Spain.

‘People come here for treats and lottery tickets, for a bit of hope and excitement’, the shop’s owners said.

The identity of the ticketholder is not yet publicly known.

Earlier this year, Lancashire couple Richard and Debbie Nuttall thought they had won £2.60 when they had actually won the £61million EuroMillions jackpot.

Richard said: ‘I went through to Debs and I said we’ve won £2.60 on the lottery and she was like: “Woohoo, we’ll go and have a bacon butty or something with that.”‘

But they soon found out the truth through an email received while celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary on the Spanish island of Fuerteventura.

Richard said: ‘Obviously we were stunned but also very excited at the time, it was almost like Del Boy and Rodney when they come out of Sotheby’s and they start cheering and punching the air, the car was rocking.’

Such lifechanging sums of money can wreak havoc on people’s lives.

Gillian Bayford, who won £148million in 2012, ended up splitting from her husband of five years after he kept begging for more money.

She had given him a generous monthly allowance, but he ‘threw money left, right and centre’ on expensive cars, watches, and trips with friends.
