One man killed, another injured in Brighton Park shooting

Two men were shot, one fatally, Saturday night in Brighton Park, Chicago police said.

The men, ages 30 and 57, were outside around 9 p.m. in the 3000 block of West 37th Place when a white car pulled up and three men got out with guns, according to police. The gunmen shot at the two men and then fled.

Edgar Arroyo, 30, was shot in the shoulder and lower back. He was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital where he later died, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The 57-year-old was shot in the left armpit and was taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition, police said.

There is no one in custody, police said.
