One shot, two stabbed in violent Oakland confrontation

OAKLAND — One man was shot and two other men were stabbed in a violent confrontation Tuesday night in North Oakland, authorities said.

The man shot and one of the stabbing victims were in critical condition, authorities said.

The confrontation happened around 11:27 p.m. Tuesday on the street in the 5300 block of San Pablo Avenue.

According to initial police reports, a 62-year-old man and a 30-year-old man who know each other confronted a 40-year-old man they apparently did not know.

What the dispute was about has not been released.

The argument escalated, and the 40-year-old man allegedly stabbed the two other men, authorities said. The younger man then allegedly shot him at least twice, authorities said.

All three were taken to a hospital, where the man shot and the older stabbing victim were in critical condition.  The other man was in stable condition.
