Outbound lanes of Dan Ryan reopened after crash caused semi to spill gravel, diesel fuel

The outbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway reopened Wednesday after a crash caused a semitruck to dump gravel and diesel fuel on the roadway, closing all outbound lanes for several hours.

Illinois State Police were called to a two-vehicle crash about 10:45 a.m. on the Dan Ryan at 91st Street. The semi rolled over and spilled the gravel and fuel across the outbound lanes, state police said.

Outbound traffic on the Dan Ryan was being diverted off at 87th Street, state police said. All lanes were reopened around 1:40 p.m., according to state police.

No injuries were reported.
