PALO ALTO — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly exposed himself to a high school-aged girl Tuesday, authorities said.
The victim had been walking eastbound on the north sidewalk of the 100 block of Embarcadero Road around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when she crossed toward Kingsley Avenue and was approached by the suspect, authorities said. He showed her his phone and asked for directions.
The suspect moved his phone in the direction of his waist and the victim noticed that his pants were undone and he was holding his exposed penis, authorities said.
The victim walked away from the suspect and called the police to report the incident about 30 minutes later, authorities said. Police responded to the location of the incident but were unable to find the suspect.
The suspect was described as an Indian or Middle Eastern man around 30 years old, thick hair and eyebrows, dark colored eyes and a dark brown mustache that attached to his beard, according to a press release from the Palo Alto Police Department. He was reportedly wearing a long sleeve, collared button-down shirt with black pants.
The case remains under investigation, authorities said. There have not been any recent reports of similar cases in Palo Alto.
