A 35-year-old Parker man pleaded guilty to child sex exploitation after investigators say he was trading child sexual abuse material and soliciting explicit images from a juvenile, his third conviction for sex crimes against children.
Stacy Garrett Suppeland was arrested in June on five counts of sexual exploitation of a child after the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about videos depicting child sexual abuse linked to a Denver-area phone number.
Would Douglas County’s home-rule bid counter Colorado Democrats — or is it “the politics of defiance”?

Suppeland pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a child on Feb. 24, according to court records. Prosecutors dismissed three exploitation charges and two sentence-enhancing counts for being a habitual sexual offender as part of the plea agreement.
Suppeland previously pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a child in 2013 and was sentenced to a lifetime of intensive supervised probation. He again pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a child in 2020 and was sentenced to 16 days in jail and 15 years intensive supervised probation.
Suppeland is being represented by the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, which does not comment on cases.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 28.
