Terrifying footage captures the moment a plane with over 100 passengers on board caught fire during takeoff.
An Airbus A320 bound for New York from Houston, Texas burst into flame on Sunday morning after encountering ‘engine trouble’ as it prepared to leave the runway.
Passengers spotted smoke billowing from the wing of the plane and were immediately whipped into a frenzy, with footage showing them pointing at the fire and screaming ‘get us out!’
The plane managed to come to a halt before taking to the skies at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and the 104 passengers and five crew members were forced to flee onto the runway.

No injuries were reported and the plane took off later in the day.
One video of the incident shows a flight attendant asking passengers to remain in their seats as chaos erupts around her.
‘No, it’s on fire,’ another passenger can be heard yelling back.
Firefighters rushed to the scene, but the fire had extinguished itself by the time they arrived. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
Passenger screamed ‘get us out’ as the plane started billowing smoke
Passenger Ashlyn Sharp told FOX News: ‘The crew finally made us go down the emergency slide at the rear [of the plane] when they realized we weren’t going to stay in our seats much longer.
‘Then, we ended up stuck on the tarmac for about two and a half hours.
Eventually, they brought a bunch of shuttles, ambulances, and police arrived.’
The incident comes just days after two deadly aviation accidents in Washington DC and Philadelphia.
An American Airlines flight crashed into a river on Jan 29 after an Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with it in midair, killing 67 people, in the worst US aviation disaster for nearly 25 years.
Days later, an air ambulance crashed into a neighbourhood in Philadelphia, resulting in seven fatalities and 22 injuries.
