A 25-year-old woman was killed when an SUV jumped a curb and crashed into her early Tuesday in North Lawndale on the West Side.
The victim, an unidentified 25-year-old woman, was on a sidewalk around 4:15 a.m. when an Acura MDX being driven by a 21-year-old woman was traveling through an alley off Lawndale Avenue when she made a left turn onto 13th Street, slammed into the curb and then into the woman, police said.
The woman suffered multiple injuries to her body and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The 21-year-old motorist, who was arrested, suffered a leg injury and was taken to Mt. Sinai in fair condition, officials said.
Charges were pending.
