BRENTWOOD — Thieves broke into a Brentwood veterinarian hospital over the weekend and stole specially made bags containing urns with pet ashes, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the business in the 1200 block of Central Boulevard around 8:10 a.m. Saturday for a report of a possible burglary, according to the Brentwood Police Department.
They arrived to find one of the hospital’s glass doors shattered, but no one inside, police said.
A review of surveillance footage revealed two masked individuals broke the door shortly after 6 a.m., police said. Once inside, they tried to gain access to a cash register but were unsuccessful.
“The suspects then took specially made bags containing urns with pet ashes,” police said.
The individuals then left the business through the same shattered door, police said.
Police have not released a description of the suspects.
The incident is under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to call 925-809-7911. Callers may remain anonymous.
