Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators rallied Saturday against President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk at sites across the United States. At more than 1,200 “Hands Off!” demonstrations — in both blue and red states — protesters criticized the administration’s actions on government downsizing, the economy, human rights and other issues.
Major rallies were held throughout the Bay Area, at Sacramento’s capitol grounds, in Southern California, at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., in New York City and Boston and other locations. In Florida, people rallied near a golf course where Trump spent the morning.
Asked about the demonstrations, the White House said in a statement that Trump will always protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
