The release of a new console title is a cause for celebration in “Pokemon Go” and the Oct. 16 launch of “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” is no different. The upcoming title takes place is drastically different from past games, featuring a narrative that mainly takes place in Lumiose City and an action-oriented combat system.
To mark the occasion, “Pokemon Go” will have a Pokemon Legends: Z-A Celebration event form 10 a.m. Oct. 16 to 8 p.m. Oct. 20. It will feature more Mega Raids along with the appearance of Chikorita, Totodile and Tepig in Timed Research. These Pokemon are reported to be the starters in the upcoming game. In “Pokemon Go,” they will feature a Seasonal Special Background and be part of the branching questline for the event. Players will have to choose a starter and they will appear more often to the Daily Adventure Incense. These starters also have a chance to be shiny.
Unfortunately, the pocket monsters caught in “Pokemon Go” can’t be transferred to the “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” just yet. The game’s website said Pokemon Home integration isn’t arriving until 2026, and what’s more, Pokemon transferred to “Z-A” can’t be transferred back to previous games in the series. In addition, Pokemon caught in “Z-A” can’t be used in previous games as well. This means that players must be extra judicious when it comes to figuring out which creatures to send to the title.
As for “Pokemon Go” features, evolving the starters will add their Community Day moves. Meganium, Chikorita’s final form, will know Frenzy Plant. Feraligatr, Totodile’s final form, will know Hydro Cannon. Pignite, Tepig’s final form, will know Blast Burn. Players can also add those moves to already evolved Pokemon using normal Charge TMs.
Lastly, the event will feature new avatar items that will let players echo the look from the characters in the game. This will be free.
