ANTIOCH — A 27-year-old man died late Sunday night following a shooting, police said.
The gunfire happened about 11:45 p.m. in the area of Cobblestone Drive and Flagstone Drive, according to a statement from Lt. William Whitaker. When officers arrived, Whitaker said they found the man down and suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Officers treated him at the scene, but the man died there. The homicide investigation is the fourth one by Antioch police in 2025. They ruled one of the previous three homicides justifiable.
Authorities did not identify the person right away, pending notification of relatives and citing the investigation. Police asked anyone in the public with information to contact Det. John Cox at jcox@antiochca.gov or 925-481-8147.
