ANTIOCH – Police on Tuesday arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting over the weekend in Antioch.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Vallejo resident Jesus Soto, was taken into custody in Stockton, Antioch police Lt. William Whitaker said in a news release. The arrest came a day after authorities served a search warrant at a home in Vallejo.
Evidence related to the fatal shooting was collected from the home and a vehicle, Whitaker said.
The shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. Sunday near Cobblestone and Flagstone drives. Officers arrived to find a 27-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He received aid from the officers but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified the victim as Richard Morello Jr.
