Police SUV crashes into South Gate burger restaurant at end of pursuit
A Los Angeles Police Department patrol car on Sunday morning crashed through the window of a Bobo’s Hamburgers restaurant in South Gate after chasing a couple of burglary suspects.
Police said officers began following the pair near Santa Fe Avenue and Slauson Avenue around 7:15 a.m.
The suspects, who police said may have been armed, led officers on a pursuit in a gray sedan, according to KTLA.

During the chase, an officer crashed a patrol SUV into the restaurant, at the intersection of Firestone Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue.
Images from the Citizen App and OnScene.TV, a freelance videographer, show the police SUV went through a large window at Bobo’s Hamburgers, with multiple police units at the scene and caution tape blocking off the restaurant.
The entire window shattered and the window frames were bent inward, with pieces of glass covering some booths and tables inside the establishment.
No injuries were reported, police said. The burglary suspects, meanwhile, remain at large, the department added.
A Bobo’s employee said in a brief phone interview on Sunday that despite the crash, the restaurant remained open throughout the day. The employee added that there were not many people inside the building when the crash occurred, and there appeared to be no injuries.
A woman was arrested on suspicion of a stolen vehicle at some point, police said, but it was not immediately clear if she was connected with the burglary suspects or involved in the pursuit.
Information on how the crash occurred, how much money it would cost to fix the damage and whether the city of Los Angeles would pay were not available Sunday.
