Police warn ‘do not approach’ convicted rapist, 52, often found in Wetherspoons on the run after fleeing his bail hostel

POLICE have warned people not to approach a convicted rapist on the run for more than a week after fleeing his bail hostel.

Daniel Keith Bennett, 52, is wanted on recall to prison after absconding from the accommodation in Weymouth, Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police say he is often seen in a local Wetherspoons pub in the town.

He also has links to Penzance and West Cornwall. Bennett was last seen in the Weymouth area on Friday, January 3.

He is described as a white male with a bald head. It is not known what he was wearing when he was last seen.

Police say: “Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of Daniel Keith Bennett, who is wanted on recall to prison after absconding from his bail hostel in Weymouth.

“Daniel, who was originally convicted of rape, was last seen in the Weymouth area of Dorset on Friday 3 January.

“He has links to Penzance, West Cornwall, and Bournemouth. He is also known to frequent the local Wetherspoons in Weymouth.

“He is described as a white male, 52 years of age with a bald head. His clothing is unknown at the time of leaving his address.

“Do not approach Daniel but call 999 if you have any information that may assist in locating him quoting log number 53 of 3rd January.”
