Polis offers to officiate Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s wedding after engagement news

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis took to social media on Tuesday to congratulate pop icon Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce on their engagement – and not-so-subtly hint at his credentials as a wedding officiant.

Swift and Kelce on Tuesday announced their engagement on Instagram after a two-year relationship that started with Kelce trying (and failing) to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it before her Kansas City show for The Eras Tour.

Polis was quick to share good wishes for the couple on his official Instagram and X, and was heavy on references to songs on Swift’s previous albums “Reputation” and “Lover,” as well as the most recent “The Tortured Poets Department.”

“…Colorado Swifties are Down Bad with excitement over your engagement,” Polis wrote. “Skip Florida!!! and exchange your Paper Rings in the majestic Rocky Mountains.”

The governor signed the message “Certified Swiftie Wedding Officiant.”

Swift last performed in Colorado during a stop at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High for The Eras Tour in July 2023 — and also got a shout-out from the governor then.
