Queen Camilla has spoken out about how she fought off a sex attacker as a teenager for the first time.
Speaking to BBC racing commentator John Hunt, she said she had ‘forgotten’ about her ordeal but was encouraged to speak up after hearing Mr Hunt’s wife and two daughters had been murdered with a crossbow.
She went on to reveal the attack happened on a train and hit her attacker in the groin with a shoe.
The man was arrested, but Camilla has remained ‘very angry’ about being targeted.
The Queen said: ‘I remember something that had been lurking in the back of my brain for a very long time.
‘That, when I was a teenager, I was attacked on a train… I remember at the time being so angry.’

She added her mother saw her when she got off the train and said: ‘”‘Why is your hair standing on end and why is the button missing from your coat?” I had been attacked.’
‘I was so furious about it and… when the subject about domestic abuse came up, and suddenly you hear a story like John and Amy’s, it’s something that I feel very strongly about.’
The Queen chose to speak about her ordeal with Mr Hunt and his surviving daughter Amy as part of a wider conversation on women’s safety.

Mr Hunt’s wife and two daughters – Carol, Hannah and Louise – were murdered by Louise’s ex-boyfriend Kyle Clifford at their home in Bushey in July last year.
Clifford, 27, was handed a whole life order in March after pleading guilty to the murders and raping Louise.
Mr Hunt and Amy were invited to Clarence House by Camilla to discuss violence against women with Today host Emma Barnett, and edited by Baroness Theresa May.
