A very rare two-headed snake found at a zoo has captivated the attention and curiosity of observers around the world.
The slender snake became a viral hit after zookeeper Jay Brewer shared a video on Instagram of the reptile biting him with both its heads.
Brewer held the snake above its neck and waved his right index finger in front of the two heads. Another person held the snake’s mid section and tail.
‘Look, look, look, you see,’ Brewer said, then tapped one of the heads.
‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, that’s a grumpy little girl. Why are you so grumpy? Which one’s grumpier? I can’t figure out.’
As he continued to try to tap the heads, both of them bit him in the finger simultaneously.
‘Ow, I just got bit – twice,’ Brewer said.
The founder of The Reptile Zoo in Fountain Valley, California, captioned his Instagram post on Thursday as, ‘TWO HEADED SNAKE BIT ME’.
‘I thought dealing with one angry snake was enough but now I gotta deal with two of them,’ he wrote. ‘One of these girls is definitely feistier then the other but looks like both of them decided that they should bit me.’
Social media users were fascinated by the animal, and many wanted answers.
‘I have so many questions,’ wrote one user. ‘How? Is it a survivable condition?’
Another commented: ‘Ok now you got me curious as hell. Can you show us how the specific snake eats.’
‘That’s so cool, I wonder which head controls the body,’ one user wondered.
