Reagan Library exhibit “An American Christmas” shows 26 Xmas trees from 1770s to today
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute opened a new exhibit that features 26 Christmas trees, each tree decorated to represent a decade of American history and culture, from the founding of the nation in the 1770s to today.
“As the United States approaches its 250th birthday next year, this exhibit celebrates the eras that have defined U.S. history and culture and made this country what it is today,” said Melissa Giller, Chief Marketing Officer of the foundation and institute. “This exhibit is a wonderful opportunity for families to gather and reflect on our nation’s remarkable journey, a story President Reagan deeply cherished.”
The 1980s tree commemorates Ronald Reagan’s time as the nation’s 40th president, while also celebrating other defining characteristics of that decade like personal computers, the Cabbage Patch doll, the Rubik’s Cube and Beanie Babies.

A tree representing key moments in the 2020s is new in this year’s exhibit. The exhibit at the Reagan Library will run through January 4, 2026.
