Reform UK overtakes the Tories as the main rival to the Labour Party

Reform UK has said it now has more members than the Conservative Party.

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK announced it has surpassed the Tories.

The controversial party revealed its own member tracker on social media showing it has reached 1,31690 members this morning.

The latest known membership figure for the Tories is reportedly 131,680, according to the Telegraph.

It comes just months after the General Election which saw the the party win five seats in the Parliament and gain voters in traditionally Conservative voting areas.

Reform’s surge could be a blow to the Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch who took on the party’s leadership in early November following a disastrous election result for the previous ruling party.

Nigel Farage claimed at the weekend that 1,000 young people had joined the party in less than two days.

Meanwhile, the Labour membership stands at 370,450 based on the party’s own accounts.

Mr Farage, known for his divisive and inflammatory opinions on immigration, has made headlines after he had a milkshake thrown at him on the campaign trail.

Victoria Thomas Bowen, 25, was given a 13-week sentence in prison suspended for 12 months last week over the milkshake incident in Clacton-on-Sea.

Mr Farage expressed his shock over the sentence she was given over the assault by beating and criminal damage, saying it was ‘the latest example of two-tier justice system.’
