It was sunny skies as Riot Fest 2024 got underway on Friday once again at Douglass Park.
There was plenty of music to be had, but there was so much more — everything from skateboarding to wrestling to a punk rock museum exhibit to a wedding chapel awaiting couples wanting to tie the knot in between band sets.
There’s that life-size statue of actor-musician John Stamos — made out of butter.
And then there’s NOFX, which delivered the first of three headlining sets planned for the weekend — one each night — at their NOFX stage. The punk rock veterans say their calling it quits after 40 years.
The festival runs through Sunday at the park.
