The Regional Transportation District A Line trains linking Denver to Denver International Airport were delayed by around 10 minutes on Friday as crews worked to fix damage caused by high winds, and power outages shut down rail service linking the Federal Center with Golden, RTD officials said.
A Line trains were delayed because, “due to high winds,” a cross gate arm at the Dahlia Street hit a wire Wednesday night. “Repairs are in progress,” RTD officials said in an email, and should be completed by Friday night.
Xcel Energy’s precautionary power shutoff forced the adjustment of W Line service between Federal Center Station and the Jefferson County Government Center/Golden Station, officials said. Bus shuttles will be deployed during the power shutoff, they said, noting that lights, ticket vending machines, and fare validators weren’t working during the shutoff.
“RTD will continue to monitor operating conditions and weather reports across the Denver metro area and make additional service adjustments as necessary in support of customer and employee safety.”
