Rush hour disruption hits major London Underground line after fire alert

Commuters have been warned of severe disruption to their morning journeys across the London transport network.

Passengers this Monday morning were warned of major disruption after a fire alert stopped trains on the Central line.

There are severe delays on the busy line after an earlier fire alert at Queensway, the latest Transport for London update shows.

London Overground has also been hit by problems.

Trains are suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford, while there are severe delays between Gospel Oak and Richmond and Clapham Junction due to a fire alert at Hackney Central, TfL says.

Northern line is also experiencing severe delays due to an earlier fire alert at Morden.

In south London, tram passengers will see an impact on the service until Monday, 8 July and from Thursday, July 11 as Unite the Union members are due to go on strike.
