INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Russell Westbrook won’t play in Game 4 of the Nuggets’ first round playoff series against the Clippers on Saturday.
Denver’s sixth man didn’t play in the second half of Game 3 due to foot inflammation. He was questionable going into Saturday’s game and went through a pregame routine before being ruled out.
Westbrook’s absence likely means more minutes for Jalen Pickett, another backup point guard who has been Adelman’s eighth man in the playoff rotation. Adelman said before opening tip that Denver went through a variety of scenarios for its Game 4 rotation. Michael Porter Jr. was also questionable with a left shoulder sprain, but the team announced after he warmed up that he will be available.
After Game 3, Porter said his injury usually sidelines players for four to five weeks.
